Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing everyone a truly Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Week filled with warmth and joy! What are some of your most treasured Thanksgiving memories? Is it the quality time spent surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories and laughter, or perhaps the excitement of watching the Macy’s Day Parade together? Maybe it’s the anticipation of savoring classic dishes like delicious pumpkin pie, savory stuffing, and creamy mashed potatoes. As one of my absolute favorite holidays, I always eagerly look forward to this special day and the entire season that surrounds it. It serves as a wonderful reminder and opportunity to pause and reflect on all the many blessings we have in our lives. Personally, I am deeply grateful for my faith, loving family, supportive friends, and good health.

Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise.
— Psalms 95:2

To help celebrate, here are some fun Thanksgiving facts and creative activity ideas to bring extra joy to your dinner table! The very first Thanksgiving took place in October of 1621. Originally, it was a simple harvest festival celebrated by the pilgrims. Before the beloved turkey became the traditional centerpiece, the meal mainly included deer and duck, chosen by the pilgrims and Native Americans alike. Over time, this event evolved into the cherished holiday we now know and celebrate as Thanksgiving—a precious time for sharing meals and making memories with those we love and hold dear.

I love that practicing gratitude not only enriches our spirit but also helps reduce stress and anxiety, while significantly enhancing both our mental and physical well-being. This mindful attitude truly prepares our hearts for the blessings each day brings.

Wishing you a truly blessed and wonderfully joyful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, happiness, and meaningful moments spent with loved ones. May your day be abundant with gratitude and cherished memories.

Blessings,

Lisa Hice
